Spencer and his cat naps

I have to say I am very surprised at the result of our little boy (20 months old) sleeping in his big boy bed. Let me back up & tell you the whole story. Last week I took all the kids outgrown clothes out of Spencer's closet and organized them all into plastic tubs and we put them in the attic. I found a chalkboard/whiteboard easel that my neighbor was throwing away and put that in Spencers room. As a result there was no room for the crib. I was just ready to put it in the attic along with the bins and so we did. You see we already had a twin bed in Spencer's room. Well I said to myself, "why did I take his crib down he was not having any problems. Am I going to regret this? Well the answer is NO NO NO. The very first night he only woke one time and Steve actually got up and put him back to bed. Then every night since he has slept all night. He did wake up at 5:30 am one day but he took a long nap to make up for it. I am so happy that he is doing well.
PS he is cutting his 7th tooth. It is his bottom Lateral Incisor . & 8th bottom left side Molar. Wow according to this chart he was supposed to cut this tooth a long time ago. My kids were both late bloomers in the tooth department. We never follow the rules! At least my kids did NOT come out looking like this:

Whats in Your Purse?????

Since one of my obsessions is purses, I thought it would be fun to post about it.

In my purse is my current book I am reading (see side bar), my wallet (no cash), an extra house key, baby wipes, 2 diapers, the RS declaration (I am trying to memorize it), my lip balm, sunglasses, old movie tickets, coupons, a pen, my ipod & earbuds, my scriptures (in prep. for sunday I put my scriptures and completed lesson in my purse so I don't forget it), my Palm Treo Phone. This is my purse (pictured above).

So comment below on what is in your purse at this very moment.

Look who made it onto the internet....

The Memory Post

The Memory Post

1. As a comment on my blog, leave a memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you know me a little or a lot, anything you remember! If we're only blogging friends, write about a post that is most memorable.

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll be sure to write one about you... either on your blog, in my comment box, or I will email you back!

3. If the memory happens to involve my husband, please include them!

4. If you can't say something nice, don't say nothin' at all ☺(this goes mostly for my sisters)

And please do this on your page too, so we can all share in the fun times together. :)

Botanic Gardens

We went to the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens today. Emma decided she was going to pose for us and would wander from place to place posing and telling me to take a picture. It was a lot of fun and we got some great pictures.

Emma's haircut

Emma got a haircut. She got 6 inches chopped off. I was really nervous but I love it!

To catch yall up,,,,

Well today I pulled out all the "too small" clothes from Spencer's closet, thats where they were stashed and I put them in plastic tubs to be put in the attic. Now all I have to do is resort them and label the plastic tubs. Sigh....

This is a picture Emma drew. I just wanted to share it with the world because it is the first thing that she has drawn that actually looks like something, a weird something but something. (by the way our budding artist is only 3).

This is our old MP3player and we wanted to still get use out of it and so I downloaded all the church primary song book from the internet and we let Emma listen to it. It is great was for her to learn her primary songs. I am so excited about this idea and she thinks she is so cool with it.

This was a gift to Emma for her birthday last year. Just wanted to share cause it was so cute. We use it for her Sunday church bag.

This is what my crafty self has produced. Design idea borrowed from Holly. Thanks for our cute gift Holly. I let Emma put her snacks in it at the beginning of the day so she is not going through the pantry all day.

Well this is our first harvest here in Texas. Meager compared to all the stuff we grew in LA. Yes one lonely cucumber. It is actually greener then the picture is making it out to be. This little guy also has a brother that is growing in the garden but too small to pick right now. Good job Steve.

GNO

Ok so it is time for another Girls Night Out. It is going to be on Saturday July 19. Call me or Tall & Short of It for details.

Camping?????

Ok the above pictures sum it up. If you know me at all you will understand the first picture. Smores yummy. I have been craving them. As for the second picture. If you know me you will be confused. Kathy, she is not a camper. So why the on going itch to camp. Well if you must know, the real reason is probably because I have not been in forever, so actually can't remember all the annoying things I hate about camping. No for real. I want to go so bad. I want to make some family memories. Our kids are finally old enough to enjoy themselves. I think we would have fun.

Problem #1 it is July here in Texas, NEED I SAY MORE!
I really want to go when it is nice weather. I think that makes all the difference when you are camping. Well thats all I have for now just indulge in my craziness. Oh I did get my Smore craving taken care of. Ovens are great things!

Emma of Green Gables

Well I finished the book my grandmother loaned me "Traitor" I was really good (made me cry) but I am mad at her because there is a sequel. Yikes! Just another book on my ever growing list to read! Ha!

Now I am finally getting to read Anne of Green Gables. I had purchased this while back as I posted before. It is an interesting read. I am enjoying it but she "Anne" is kind of annoying because she talks so much. She reminds me of a teenage version of Emma.

My cousin Farrah does this thing on her blog called "Would You Rather" & I have one of my own from Anne of Green Gables (my current read). Ok p. 17 Anne asks her new adopted dad, "WOULD YOU RATHER, be divinely beautiful or dazzlingly clever or angelically good? So I am posing this question to you and will comment later on my answer.

To go on about the book, I do love the imagination this girl has because I have never really had a great imagination and always admired people that do, my hubby being one of those people. Although a few parts are very predictable I can't seem to put the book down. Also love the rather short chapters make easy stopping places. But don't love the chapter headings that seem to tell you ahead of time what will happen in the chapter.

So if you have time I would put it on your list to read!

whats happening now

This is the cutest picture of Spencer "just chilling"!

A while ago Emma was bugging me to make ginger bread men. I finally obliged. Her and Spencer had a blast decorating sugar cookies, (the closest thing) although they turned out nothing like gingerbread men. It was fun.

Emma & I played bubble war.
It was so much fun trying to teach her how to blow a bubble. She still does not get it.

My forehead is peeling: we have been swimming a lot last week and I neglected to put sunscreen on my forehead. It was kinda red for one day & then began to peel & is still peeling.

Our family got the BUG: then we passed it to my brothers family. It is a very contagious & nasty thing. Hit is Wed and we have cycled through in this order, Spencer, Emma, Mom & Dad. We all stayed home from church today to make sure no one else got it. So glad that is over.

Since we stayed home from church today we went to lds.org & taught the kids their primary lessons & then went over our sunday school lesson and will do the RS PRS lesson later cause I don't know which one they did. (cant find my list) It was fun. Emma loved doing it. She is getting so involved in things we do with her, while Spencer is still at the running off stage. Fun family times.

Well thats all I have for now.
