Sprinkler Park

We went to the Sprinkler park with our church play group and these are a few pictures of Emma having fun with her little buddies.

Boat Racing

Steve is still serving as 1st coun. in the singles/college ward here in Baton Rouge & the other night we made boats and raced them by blowing on the sail. Well mom & Spencer, dad & Emma went head to head & mom & Spencer won!

Horseback

We went to Steve's company party. They had a crawfish boil, hay ride, & horseback riding or horseback walking in Emma's case.
She loved it. Pretty soon she is going to be saying "Daddy I want a pony"

LOST

I have not had must time to read lately because Kristy got me hooked on LOST. I watched season 1 & 2 and can't wait to watch season 3. It is soooooooooo good & addicting.
And Kristy just so you know I am so a Jack girl but Sawyer is kinda cute.

Texas..........Home Sweet Home

Well I know I have not posted a message in a long time. So I guess we should update yall. We have been really busy. Steve has 2 more weeks of school. We are so excited for him to graduate. He has also excepted a job in Dallas, TX for American Airlines. We are really excited to be moving to the Lone Star state & are excited to be near family. We will probably live in Arlington which is about 20 to 30 min away from his job. He flys to Dallas tomm. to get the medical check up and then he will find out his start date. We are so excited! We will keep everyone updated!

Update from the 4th floor stacks...

"Hello darkness, my old friend,
Ive come to talk with you again,
Because a vision softly creeping,
Left its seeds while I was sleeping,
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence...

And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more.
People talking without speaking,
People hearing without listening,
People writing songs that voices never share
And no one deared
Disturb the sound of silence.

Fools said i,you do not know
Silence like a cancer grows.
Hear my words that I might teach you,
Take my arms that I might reach you.
But my words like silent raindrops fell,
And echoed
In the wells of silence"
- Simon and Garfunkel
"The Sound of Silence"

"Asking only workmans wages, I come lookin for a job, but I get no offers..."
- Simon and Garfunkel
"The Boxer"

1 1/2 weeks of school left....

This book makes you think

This is the book we are reading for book club this month. It is about a man who dies and the 5 people he meets on his journey to Heaven. It is an easy read & very entertaining.

Zoo Trip

We went to the Zoo today. We had so much fun & the weather was perfect! Here are some pictures from our zoo day.

Some Suggestions

Well since I asked for some book suggestions I will offer some of my own. Right now in our book club we are reading "Five People You Meet in Heaven" by Mitch Albom. It is a quick read & very interesting & clean. He has another book that I have not finished reading that is also great called "Tuesdays With Morrie." Another book we read in book club was "The Secret Life of Bee's", "Angela's Ashes" by Frank McCourt. The 2nd & third books that follow are "Tis" & "Teacher Man." I will say "Tis" is not so clean. Have not gotten to "Teacher Man" yet. I will think of more later. Steve needs to be picked up from the airport. So far Allyson my cousin is the only one that gave me some suggestions. She did give a ton so that should keep me busy for a long while. Later

Daddy & Emma

Steve has been on 4 flights in the past 2 weeks for interviews and such. Emma keeps asking him, Daddy you going on an airplane." This was Monday morning at 5am just before he left to go to Houston. She loves her daddy!

He wants to walk!

He wants to walk like his big sister.

Backyard Hunt

We hunted Easter eggs in the back yard!

Emma loves Flowers

Steve got me these flowers last week & Emma kept saying I want
to smell my flowers! She thought her dad got them for her. I hate to break it to ya girl!

Handsome little man!

Baby Spener & Mommy Emma

Emma was playing in the stroller and she begged me to put Spencer in there with her. It was so cute I had to take a picture. She loves using her little brother as a baby doll.

Parents visit

My parents visited the weekend before Easter. It was nice to visit with them & see them play with the kids. My mom bought some kids makeup and played pretend with Emma. My dad was the apple of Emma's eye, as it was Papa this & Papa that. Needless to say she enjoyed there visit.

Reading! Reading! Reading!

First of all I just wanted to let everyone know that I have an addiction. It is reading. Steve always laughs when I come home with a new book. He says I should finish reading the books I have before I get a new one. When he told me I could go anywhere I wanted to (as long as I took Spencer) I chose the bookstore. I picked up Les Mise'rables. I am going to start reading it as soon as I finish the three books I am reading right now. What can I say I love to read! I am not a fast reader like Steve (he is able to skim a book & still enjoy it.) Me, I just like to take it all in.....every single word. For me that is part of the fun.... Just to give you an idea I read about 1 book a week depending on the length.

Second, I love the book club we have going with a group of friends here in our area of LA. People have chosen some really interesting books and have opened me up to new things I might not have chosen on my own. I think it is important to explore & read different things as long as they are clean and uplift & inspire you in some way. When we move, if there is not a book club there I am going to start one. We have all really enjoyed ours!

Thirdly, I love reading with my children. Emma is 2 & she does enjoy our daily reading times. I can tell her attention span & understanding are increasing. She also enjoys the one on one time with mommy or daddy. Today when we read before nap time she said, "Mom, George is very, very Curious!" I just laughed, I have never heard her us that word before.

So finally, if anyone out there has a good book that they want to recommend to me, please do!
You will have to email me at kathyfowler17@yahoo.com since I don't think this is set up to reply to. So next time you are stressed take a load off and read!
