Super Mom, Lifeguard, Lifesaver, Life Guard etc

Today we went swimming at our friend Holly's neighborhood pool and we had a great time. I finally got Emma to swim in the "deep end" with her floaty. Spencer also enjoyed it.............UNTIL Emma pushed him into the baby pool. Super mom to the rescue. I had to jump out of the big pool and run and jump into the baby pool. It was kinda scary! Spencer is fine. We of course left the pool right away and I think I will just lock Emma in her room forever. Sigh......

I need a quiet place to read.......anyone want my kiddos

I am so excited because the Library finally got this book in that I had asked them to order. I put "The Bean Trees" on hold since I own the copy and I started the Stephenie Meyers book. I am a little bored, it is the beginning, but yet again I just have to give it time.

I have heard good things about it. So we will see!

Interesting Images

These are just a few images from the internet that I found interesting!

Another Family Fun Adventure

Sunday we went to the Botanical Gardens. We actually found a new path to walk on that was kind of like walking through the woods. It has a neat little path made of stone and the kids thought it was a neat little adventure. Here is a cute pic of Emma from that day. Another family fun adventure!

Good new Updates

Well I am excited to report my brother John whom I talked to has been coming back to church with his family and his wife Lavonda got baptized a month ago. John also got ordained a priest on sunday. (He had stopped going to church during his teenage years.)

It is awesome to see them so happy & doing good things!

This is a picture of John (on left) with his 18 month old son Jacob at my other brother David's wedding a few months ago.

Austenland

Well I have been busy the last week. I finished Poisonwood Bible for bookclub, it was very good. Then I started Austenland because it was short and I am waiting for the Library to order The Host by Stephenie Meyers for me. I will have to say Austenland was so cute. I read it in 2 days! Which if you know me that is very quick. I really enjoyed the fun loving original story line & would highly recommend it.

So now I am reading Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver and it is off to a real slow start but Stacy B. (from BR) recommended it to me and hopefully will turn out better than it began.

Happy Reading!

Poisonwood Bible

Just finished Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver and I will say that I really enjoyed this book. Although I thought the ending dragged on a little. To find out more about what I thought of this book come to bookclub on Thursday. See side bar of blog for more details.

A few weeks ago Emma went to a Primary Activity and this is her all dressed up for the carnival. She had a blast.

Playschool

We had playschool at our house yesterday and we only had 4 kids. Left to right Emmie, Austin, Grace, & Emma. We talked about fish and then made a paper plate fish (cut, glued & colored). Then we played outside and inside. The kids are so much fun! this is them making a silly face. They all love to have their picture taken!

I just love it when you have had a fun day with the kids. Then on the way home they are so worn out they just crash in the car!

Those are the moments!

We went to the zoo last week with a playgroup. Holly & I split from them at the end so we could see the birds before we left. I thought this was a neat picture of Holly & Mya, if you look closely at the birds they are fighting for the food.
The bird cage is by far Emma & Spencer's favorite place at the zoo. Those birds just come right up to you and fly so close to your heard. They have really beautiful coloring and are so cute! Spencer is funny to watch because he tries to chase them around and he laughs.

Here is my little princess, yes she is riding her bike in a nice dress. She is going through a stage right now, it is called "I want to wear a dress" stage. I dress her in the morning and she will go change her clothes and put on a dress. Sometime I let her stay in a dress, just depends what the days plans are. She is getting so big, I can't believe she will be turing 4 this year!

My crazy day

I taught play school here this morning and all went well. Then we went to the dentist and I took both kids and I locked my keys in the car. So we walked home from Walmart. I would have called one of my friends but I locked my cell phone in the car as well so I was out of luck. I am thinking well we don't live that far from Walmart. Yeah but when it is 90 degrees outside and you are pushing one kid in the stroller and one is walking & getting tired & wants you to carry her....any ways you get my drift. Lets just say I have had my workout for the day and hopefully a suntan to go with it. When we were most of the way home this lady stopped and offered us a ride. She was really sweet and that helped out a bunch. Thank goodness there are good people left in the world.
Now it is nap time......for the kids.......and me!

About a month ago I took Emma to my dad's drum concert. He took a college drum course at Richland college, I am so proud of him. He is the one in the middle with the almost all white beard.
This is Kristen (green shirt) Kelly's daughter, and Emma (pink shirt) and Nevaeh you can barley see but they wanted to play papa's drums after the concert.

I am so glad...

I am so glad that Spencer loves his sister enough to let her help him. Seen above they are painting. This was Spencer's first time to paint and Emma was showing him how it is to be done.
This morning Emma got up after Spencer and he run up to her and gave her a big hug & smile. He was soooo glad she was awake to play with. Hope it lasts.

Mother's Day

I had a great Mother's Day! Steve let me sleep in & made breakfast, lunch & dinner. Spencer got to go to Nursery for the first time and he did great! We were given chocolate at church. Yum! We got to talk to my mom & Steve's mom. I got to take a nap and we had a yummy watermelon. It was a beautiful day so we played out in our back yard and had a very peaceful day. I have been enjoying, for a few weeks now my mothers day gift. My new ipod. Love it! Thank you Steve for making me feel special today & everyday! Love ya!

PS The greatest present I got for Mother's day was Spencer (18 months old) let me rock him to sleep. He fell asleep after about 5 minutes and I got to enjoy being a mom. I love being a mother.

Have you ever been on a cruise???

I ask this question...."have you ever been on a cruise?" because I know a few of my friends have. I was looking into them the other day and the more I looked the more I got excited to go. I think we will be trying to save our money for about a year or 2 so we can take a cruise.

Hence I ask the question. I want you to share tidbits of advice and helpful hints or where you went and why you did or did not like it? Also what you did for your "on shore" time.

I look forward to seeing your reply.

Emma or Kathy???

I showed Emma this picture & asked her who it was & she said "me." Do you think we look alike?
