I like to go to Garden Ridge....I don't know if they have one out there or not.

Do I sound like a cheap skate if I tell you to check out the garage sales? You may be able to find some cool mirrors and stuff. Otherwise, this is a great time of year for clearance sales. Don't rule out antique shops...even if your taste isn't old-fashioned. You could find something cool and just touch it up a bit. Steve is great at that anyway, right? Good luck...have fun!

I LOVE ikea! I have a wishlist in the works right now. We have to go all the way to Houston, but we make the trip a couple of times a year. I've also gotten stuff at Target. Check department stores like Dillards, Macy's, JcPenny's, etc. They occasionally have good sales on their home decor. I keep an eye on the sales papers for those deals. Good luck.

Did you see the pictures I made that I put on my blog. I just got some art canvas (I was at JoAAnns yesterday and they were on sale 1/2 price.) And decoupaged scrapbook paper on them. It seriously was so easy. And this way you can make them custom to match your room. Here is the link to my pics.

I guess I am just not confident in my decorating skills, although sometimes I come up with something cute. Thanks for the ideas gals!

Target has some great frames already matted for you. I buy things here and there. We have stuff from Pier 1, Ashley Furniture, Target, World Market, Babies r us, Bombay, Ikea, and countless others. I always look for sales. We've aquired things slowly during the past 7 years. Good luck! It's always good to find a sale that offers no interest for a year, and a percentage off if you open a credit card with their store. If you're paying a big chunk of change, 15% turns into a big savings!

Don't forget to ask about floor models. I have gotten all kinds really nice stuff from Pottery Barn by buying their floor models.

do you know those clear plastic box-like frames that you can get for like $3 bucks at Wal-mart or target or michaels? Have Emma do some art work for you and buy a few of those frames. That way its cheap, easy, and meaningful. You can also buy really cheap frames at IKEA. I decorate with "found items." Things that I already have or make myself. By arranging what you already have differently or taking things out of context (ie..changing a plate into a candle holder or using Jared's trombone case as an endtable) you can create a warm and meaningful environment. I like to go to Hobby Lobby for decorating as well because they have awesome sales on frames, decor, and flowers.
